U-Series Nozzles

Patented U-series nozzle is the first plastic spray head nozzle with a second orifice for close in watering and more uniform water distribution. Uses up to 30% less water than the standard nozzle

PRS Spray Head

Maintains constant discharge pressure at each sprinkler head to ensure maximum performance, restricts water loss by 70% if the nozzle is damaged or missing during operation. Average residential sprinkler system based on watering 5 days per week, 10 minutes per station for a total 30 weeks per season could expect average water saving of 7000 gallons of water per station.

There is no better cost effective way to ensure the sprinkler system is not watering when it's not necessary. An irrigation system with a rain sensor installed will reduce water waste and save you money, by effectively controlling the sprinkler system based on natural precipitation.

The 5004PRS rotor in stem pressure regulator ensures maximum nozzle performance and paired with MPR (matched precipitation nozzles) nozzles to evenly distribute water on your lawn. Average residential sprinkler system based on watering 5 days per week, 30 minutes per station for a total of 30 weeks per season could expect average water saving of 8000 gallons of water per station.

Watertec S100 is the simplest and most effective way to turn any sprinkler timer into a smart controller. Baselines patented and field proven soil moisture sensing technology to control watering based on actual soil moisture content. Benefits include:

  • Eliminates over watering
  • Saves time and money
  • Improves lawn and landscape health
  • Automatically adjusts for weather

Drip irrigation is ideal for planting beds of all sizes; the slow consistent application of water from a drip system helps plants to thrive. Drip products water at a much more localized level at or near the root zone. Drip minimizes water runoff and eliminates over spray on windows, walkways and streets. Drip irrigation stations can have a water savings of 50%-70% less water than a conventional spray head system.

ET is the amount of water lost from the soil through evaporation plus the plants (grass) water loss (known as transpiration), both of which are dramatically affected by weather conditions. ET Manager uses current weather conditions from the weather station located at Winchel Irrigation LLC and ET to water your lawn and landscape only when it needs it. ET Manager can be used and installed on any electric sprinkler timer.

Water is the earth’s most precious resource.  The need to conserve water and use it responsibly has never been greater.   Winchel Irrigation is taking a leading role in West Michigan to conserve the water that is used in lawn sprinkling systems, by designing and installing systems with products that reduce water usage and waste.

Products, such as, U-series spray nozzles, pressure regulating spray heads and pressure regulating rotors save the average homeowner thousands of gallons of water each lawn sprinkling season.  Automatic Rain Sensors help that same homeowner regulate their sprinkler system in conjunction with the natural rain fall.

The use of drip irrigation in landscape beds allows for the plantings to receive water at the root base.  This application is most effective and reduces water waste in these areas.  New products, such as the Water Tec S100 is a soil moisture sensor.  This product reads the moisture in the soil and sends that data back to the S100 and regulates the run time in those zoned areas.

Winchel Irrigation is serious about the use of our water.  We have installed a weather station at our location, which coordinates with an ET Manager at the homeowner’s location.  This device manages the operation of a home’s sprinkler system by coordinating the data at both locations, based on current weather conditions and the amount of water the home’s lawn and landscape uses every day.

Whether a new sprinkler system is being installed or an existing system upgraded, a variety of products are available to conserve the amount of water being used, while increasing the health and appearance of your lawn and landscaping.
